Ever since I first saw "Blade Two", I've been a fan of the director Guillermo Del Toro and it was only a matter of time before I did a shoot influenced by his fantastic films.  A visit to London last month to work with the Spanish models Xanadu Nox and Angel of Darkness, seemed the ideal time.  With the "Children of the Labyrinth" team completed by [info]catwalk_ghost, we met up at Grovelands Park in north London, a location perfect for a story of fairies, angels and unicorns.  Unfortunately the park was full of families enjoying the unseasonally warm weather and I've had to photoshop out numerous lads playing with balls and young girls impressed with beautiful models in their park!

This coming weekend is my "Cell block Tango" shoot which is another homage to a film I rather like, "Chicago".   Sadly, I've already had a model drop out but hopefully we'll still be able to create something in the spirit of the musical.

Thank you Claire. It's suprising how well these have turned out considering how sunny the day was. I had to be very careful with my exposure as I kept on getting really bright patches and burning out all the time.

Cell Block Tango sounds very intriguing - who do you have modelling for that?

It's now down to a local model called Amaeya and Roxy Lyx from Lincoln.

I love these. #2 = Lovely shot, lovely girl.

I'd like to be a subject in a shot like the first one. Gorgeous.

Those scenes are always a bugger to set up but always look great once it's all done. Poor old [Unknown LJ tag] was standing in about a foot of water, so he was a real trooper!

It's what we of Declinegothica call "the rule of Ebb" and the rule says that if it hurts, it will look good in the shot! And it works 99% of the time!

Yeah, and must say I was stinking like dead fish on my way home. Nasty!

Nevertheless, the photoshoot was first of all great fun, second of all I was really "inspired" (I'm not sure whether this word is appropriate to describe the chemistry behind my input though) by the location, and it was a pleasure to see Dave, of course.

And, Dave, as I have already said before (but will say it again), your work is absolutely beautiful - both photography and editing.

Best,
Alex

You couldn't pay me a higher complement Jill, I love the Pre-Raphaelites! I hope you like the next images as much. X
