Someone from some porn company just emailed me and offered $1500 for me to do a boy/girl scene for them. Look, I've had porn companies vulturing me ever since I was 18 and I will NEVER do mainstream porn. EVER. What I do, I do on MY terms, MY way, with who *I* want to do it with...I will never ever ever fuck some random stranger just because someone pays me to. EVER. I have no moral issue with pornography or the people who do it, but I am a one-man kind of woman. The sleeping around I do in my rare single off-time I do for the lolz, not for a paycheck. I am not your product and I will not be repackaged and sold as just another a watered down, anonymous commodity for the masses. I have done porn with my exes and profited from that, sure, but those were people I was fucking anyway and they didn't have Herpegonnosyphilaids. I'm not about to risk getting some incurable vagina-dissolving disease just so I can have some extra spending money. So to all you weird fuckers who troll porn forums and try to get the companies to "recruit" me, cut it the fuck out. It ain't happening. I don't give a flying fuck how butt hurt you are over my constant rejection of your lucrative offers to put me on low grade slut sites. If I ever decide to put material of me out there again, it'll be with my boyfriend and not some poxy porn meathead who leaves his socks on during sex for some freakish reason (like all the guys in porn do...wtf). kthx. |

Novel Writing!
Hello all you Steamers out there! I wanted to give a shout out to all my fellow authors! This year, I'm working on a Steampunk novel for my National Novel Writing Month project, and would love some input! my work is heavily grounded in the actual punk aspects of the genre, and I am very excited to be bringing that to the table! As you might know, but as I certainly didn't know before joining NaNoWriMo, you have to put in a large number of words per night, and one of the fun exercises of the project is trope-writing. What Punk and Steampunk plots and elements do YOU most enjoy!? I know what I like (mega corps, assassins, subjugation of truth...food etc.) but what do YOU like!? My inquiring, writing mind wants to know! (X-posted to every forum I could think of!) Current Mood: awakeCurrent Music: Tappity Tap keyboard |

Calling all perverts.
If work doesn't happen for me soon I may go back to doing (solo) webcam stuff part time to fill in my budget somewhat. It's easy and I'm fucking good at it, so wth? If there are sites you like, or if you work for one (some of you girls do), email me (malice at beautydestroyed dot com) and let me know...there are a ton out there and I'm looking for references to ones that seem the most legitimate and well-known. IF I decide to go this route...which I may not, I haven't decided. I've also had 2 girls tell me I should look into their line of work and just beat the shit out of dudes for a living since I sort of do that anyway for free. That's a thought. lol. |

Long time no speak...
I apologise for not updating my Livejournal in such a long time (bar the rather hyper birthday post which didn't really give much of an update at all!). I found that, faced with any blank space, I would just write endless spiel in regards to the break-up and subsequent homelessness... etc etc. Well, now I've grown into my new regime as best as I possibly ever will so I may as well no longer fear depressing indulgences for the users of the internet to behold!
My parents have, kindly, allowed me to settle with them for the foreseeable future (not the easiest adjustment after my living in my own places for the last three and a half years!) so I no longer need to fear having nowhere to lay my head. I hope it won't be a long-term fixture (purely due to my independent nature) but there are worse places to be. We are getting along tremendously well for, quite possibly, the first time in our entire relationship. I am willing to hazard a guess that the years running my own home renewed my attitude towards their superiority. I also have transport once again. Its not quite my beloved Vitara "Beast" (of whom I miss greatly and I am just as devastated to loose him as I am to loose everything else) but it is certainly a decent car (I haven't a picture of the car itself, but here's an identical one I discovered... http://varna-rentacar.com/bg/images/cars/Citroen_Xsara_Estate_Car_1.4.jpg). Due to my habit of naming everything, I have named my new set of wheels Max, as he's a 2L Diesel Turbo and is rather nippy indeed!
Other than settling at my parents’ house and gaining Max, I am thoroughly enjoying university. I have made some incredible new friends, the course is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping it would be, and student finances finally paid up everything I was entitled to! (Hence Max!) I am being kept very busy which is exactly what I need right now, any moment where I'm not thinking about the many things I have now to think about, my mind tends to rapidly drift into things that cause me severe emotional distress. The moral of the story is, busy is good!
Oh and I am starting to shoot again. I've also lost the best part of a stone (a break-up has to be the best diet imaginable!) so I'm feeling much better about being a model again. Photographers who want to shoot the new (and slightly more slimline) me should get in touch. I very much doubt the bones will stay there forever!
RAVEN XXX
P.S. One little whinge is allowed. Drew found himself a new girlfriend in less than two months of being apart. It didn't take him very long did it?! Whinge adjourned! |

Brisbane's Premier Steampunk nightclub is having its first birthday! Can you believe its already been a year?? And what a night we have in store for you! PB will be partying on an international scale, with Com.X holding a sister party in the UK. To celebrate (and possibly tear holes in the fabric of reality), anyone showing up in a Twist Bitch costume gets discounted entry. Want to know more? Victorian book - what to wear to fancy dress balls
A friend of mine sent me a link to an online copy of a Victorian book called Fancy Dresses Described; or, What to Wear at Fancy Balls. It is mostly for women, but there is a short section talking about men's wear. There's pictures and descriptions for the rest, and I thought some people here might find some interesting inspiration :) Seeing as it is a Victorian book, there are some horrible racial stereotypes, though -_- Current Mood: calmCurrent Music: Govinda - Clear With Fantasy |

Dr Who - The Waters of Mars
So after anticipating it for MONTHS I saw Waters of Mars today. And just like with Torchwood I was disappointed. I really did like the Dr in this episode but everything else was just kindda bland to me. The story just didn't appeal to me and I only really enjoyed the part where he went in hyper mode to get the last 3 people out of the dome. I liked his entire "Timelord Victorius" thing etc. But overall... meh. I hope the Christmas Day/New Years Day special will be better. Seriously, can someone make sure that RTD NEVER writes another episode of Torchwood or Dr Who? He used to be quite fab but lately all the things he's done have been 90% shite and I can't appreciate my fandom being rubbishfied. Hopefully the next season will be better but at this point I've stopped counting on it (I didn't like the episodes the new writer did last season) :( Current Mood: disappointedCurrent Music: music tv in the background |

Distorted Dreams shoot
This afternoon I had my " Distorted Dreams" shoot with my old friends thevioletraven and Sarah-in-Tortureland, along with new friends etoile_violet and Lars Wickett. The theme was our take on the wonderful paintings of artist Luis Royo, a very strong theme and one that will take some serious photoshopping in the weeks to come! Thanks to all the lovely models and Neo Geisha, for helping out behind the scenes. LtoR: Violet Raven, Sarah-in-Tortureland, Lars Wickett, Etoile and Dave Charsley (Picture by Neo Geisha) |

Leraning new techniques and software packages, and the tyrrany of choice.
I've just installed the new beta of LightRoom 3. My current RAW converter of choice is DPP, which I've mostly got the nack of now. The sliders make sense to me, and there are not too many of them. LR3 is something of a different kettle of fish. I've put the photos taken at Whitby on there, and I'm going to use those as a test set. The problem with learning what you are doing is that there is all this interface with a great richness of control. And I don't understand what it all does. I've hit the point of being a little unsure about tackling the WGW shots. To be honest, what this probably means is that I am going to do the day two shots better than the day one shots as I learn what I am up to. A lot of today was spent with the Whtiby pictures, and they are going to be a while before they are finished. |

We've (Almost) Got a Photobook
Spoiler! It's deadline day, but I'm still waiting on a final handful of pictures at a higher resolution and am in no terrible hurry. At the moment we're at a few but respectable twenty pages. Many of the volunteers from the beginning sent me a Flickr account link and told me to go to town, which I would have loved to do, but I cannot use the images at resolutions to be found on the internet if we want a project of any quality to come of them. If you or a loved one are one of those who thought you contributed and yet do not see yourself listed, please give me a holla' at kanirakoba at gmail dot com so we can talk 300dpi. 20 pages is small but respectable, however, so we're going to the printers as soon as my final people check in. One of them has the full resolution for the image on the cover, so she's a tad important. Which brings up a second point. I wanted to purchase the maiden copy myself so I could give it a look through for errors to be fixed before it's released publicly, but because of where I'm located Blurb takes about 2~3 weeks to get anything to me. Wrong side of the planet, apparently. For those featured and/or those intending to purchase, does the wait outweigh the risk? I swear I will just die if it's released and someone's name is spelled wrong. Thanks all! |

Striped Polonaise
A couple of weeks ago, I asked for help putting together a steampunk outfit for a Halloween costume. I didn't have much time/money to do too many additions, but I think it turned out okay anyway. Today, some friends of mine and myself got together for a photo shoot at a local college campus. I thought you might be interested in seeing the finished product, though I do apologize that I'm not necessarily the best model. ( Fairly large pictures behind the cut. )Thanks for looking and let me know what you think! |
